Episode III.24 - Introduction to the Late Roman Republic

Tiberius Gracchus returns home from the Third Punic War and finds his nation in decline. The wealthy have imported immigrants and slaves to replace the native-born Romans in the countryside. Ex-soldiers and their families have lost their farms and poured into urban zones, landless and living in poverty. The young man ascends to the office of tribune, and begins a revolution that will rock the very foundations of the Roman political system.
